What a month we’ve just had, July 2010 saw the release of our debut record, Dark Sky’s “Frames EP”. We couldn’t have hoped for a better response. The press has been really positive and we’ve had radio plays on XFM and Radio1 amongst others. That and the reaction “Reflex” got at The Alibi when Jamie XX dropped it in the mix a couple of weeks ago, reassured us we’ve put out a really strong record.

Koreless has received a lot of attention recently too with his tracks played out at the same night and Up Down Up Down appearing in a mix put together by Alex Hislop (AKA LIXO from the GETME collective) for i-D Magazine.

Koreless has also been booked by Young Turks to play their next night on 26th August at The Alibi in Dalston (East London). He’ll appear alongside Pariah, Bullion and Sampha.

July saw some of our artists play live at the save area10 warehouse party. On the bill for the night were Pictures Music artists, Chairman Kato and Throwing Snow who performed for the first time with vocalist Amenta of Red Bull Music Academy fame. We liked their set so much that we’ve arranged for them to appear on the main stage at Little London Fields Festival this Saturday (7th August), it’s free so no excuses. Throwing Snow & Amenta will be warming up for that with a show at the Lock Tavern’s Bear Club on Wednesday.

Next up: releases from Chairman Kato and Koreless but they are going to be a little while yet. In the meantime we’ll be putting out a couple of exclusive free download EPs to keep your ears happy.

On a separate note, music photographer Dan Wilton (soon to appear as a featured photographer in the images section) is holding an exhibition of his work.

“F**K OFF, I LOVE YOU is a photographic exhibition comprising of sixty portraits of friends swearing, realised in collaboration with director Huse Monfaradi.”

The show runs from 20th to 26th August at LondonNewcastle Project Space, 28 Redchurch Street, Bethnal Green, E2 7DP. For more information have a look at fuckoffiloveyou.co.uk.
